Came in on a Sunday soon after opening and quickly got a seat. Our server was kind and not overly attentive, just how we like it! Coming from the west coast we were used to bbq spots being more casual, this felt like a nicer restaurant! Could definitely see folks celebrating birthdays or graduations here. Family friendly yet a mature ambiance at the same time. Ordered a small spinach salad, jalapeño cornbread, and a 3 meat combo to share. The portions are huge and we had some leftovers but I think this amount is perfect for 2 people. The salad was delicious and had a good balance of refreshing textures. The cornbread had a yummy honey butter - couldn't taste much jalapeño but I was fine with that since I prefer sweet over savory cornbreads (this one is def leaning savory). For the combo, we got the sausage, baby back ribs, and brisket. We had fries on the side. They kindly split the combo into two plates for us which was a nice offer. The meats were amazing. My favorite was the ribs - super tender and thick cut, some places I've been there isn't much meat on the bone but really liked this one!! Smoky and flavorful. Brisket was also really nice and not dry. The sausage was good - no complaints there. Fries were standard and yummy. I'm not sure if I'll have bbq like this in awhile. Definitely recommend trying if you are visiting KC! A quick walk from Union Station.

I have been dying to check out this location for 6 years and we made it happen! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The service was fantastic fantastic fantastic. We had two servers that were tag teaming our table and could not have done a better job. Shout out to Jeremy and Antoine. The stacked fries were a fabulous appetizer followed by two perfectly cooked filets. One served with the spinach strawberry salad and the other with the Parmesan broccoli. We will definitely be looking forward to our next visit.

For this being large scale BBQ it's done very well. Buddy and I got the pit master. Pork and beef burnt ends, ribs , sausage and wings. Must say it was all good. Very tender. I really enjoyed it. We didn't come close to eating it all. The jalapeño corn bread is also delicious. I normally like the more hole n the wall ma and pop bbq but this was pretty damn good. Can't really go wrong at Jack stack

I was anticipating my return to Jack Stack before I even left...and not for reasons you may think! If you are staying in the crown center area it's definitely worth a visit. Jack stack feels like an upscale BBQ experience. The inside is very spacious and the service was fast! I would like to acknowledge that the pork burnt ends were enjoyable and I'd get them again, but the pork ribs were pretty mid. They were definitely tender and fell off the bone but I found them lackluster. HOWEVER I came here to rave about the appetizers!!! In first place is the pulled pork Mac followed by the onion rings and then the jalapeño cornbread. Wow! I could have only had appetizers and left extremely happy. There are a few other things on the menu I would be interested in trying so I will be back

From out of town on business. Highly recommended by the locals. The building was unassuming, but when we went in, it was very nice in character and smelled of great barbecue (hickory?). The menu was huge for a meat lover (which I am) and was stumped on what to order. The locals recommended the burnt tips so that's the direction I went. I went with the two burnt tips (pork and beef). Sauce was excellent, the pit master beans were awesome! The wait staff was excellent in giving an overview of what preferences are to try when from out of town. Would for sure go back if I had the opportunity. I

I got a great recommendation from a local to visit Jack Stack if I wanted a classic KC BBQ. We started with BBQ shrimp which was excellent! Smoky savory shrimp with a side of bread to soak in the sauce. I splurged on the 3 meat combo with the crown prime beef ribs, pork ribs and burnt ends. It was too much for me to down in one sitting so I did a takeaway box for lunch the next day. The broccoli and beans were both tasty sides. We finished with a carrot cake that was decadent. All in all a good meal at a happening place.
